Students at the University of Southern Maine rally in Portland, Maine, for Palestinian rights and to criticize American support for Israel.

Americans are choosing Iran over Israel. Eight out of 10 Democrats favor Iran over Israel (Pew Research survey of April 7, 2026, and other surveys). Among young Democrats ages 18 to 49 the number is even higher. Republicans in the same age group have a 57 percent unfavorable view of Israel. The numbers have been rising for years.
Despite confirmed reports of tens of thousands of unarmed Iranian civilians being murdered by government forces, and despite Iran being the world’s top sponsor of terrorism, yet it is preferred over Israel.
From Melbourne to Munich, it’s the same story.
Negative reports about Israel, “casualty” numbers released by the Hamas-controlled Gaza Health Ministry, are unchallenged by the news media. Influential social media such as TikTok are overwhelmingly skewed against Israel. The few impartial reports are lost in a flood of hate propaganda disguised as journalism.
Muslim communities worldwide are vocal with easily remembered slogans (“Free Palestine”). They condemn “Zionists.” It is code language meaning Jews, who are always named the root of all the world’s problems. If you accuse Israel of committing “genocide” enough times, eventually everyone will believe it, even if it’s a lie.
For decades, universities have been the spawning grounds for antisemitic, pseudo-scholastic indoctrination: Israel is called a “white-supremacist, colonizing upstart state that was illegitimately created in 1948 as a sop to Holocaust survivors, while displacing the people who lived there for millennia.” Every word of that charge is a blatant falsehood that ignores history, human rights and Bible testimony.
Hostility towards Israel already begins in the public schools, according to Nissan Strauchler (“How Europe’s classrooms are being turned into factories of antisemitism,” Israel Hayom, May 4, 2026).
Ireland: “Auschwitz is described in [school textbooks] as a ‘prisoner of war camp’ rather than an extermination camp. Judaism is presented as a religion that believes the only way to achieve justice is through violence [sic].”
Norway: There is an organized effort to incorporate the “genocide in Gaza” libel into school curricula. Educators claim that “Israel stole the land from the Palestinians, and that it is bad that the Jews arrived to destroy the peace in the Middle East.” No textbooks speak about Jewish expulsion from Muslim countries, or about Iran’s role in antisemitism and terror.
Spain: The Israeli “genocide” is accepted fact in Spain. Boycotts of Israel are popular. Since Spain was not directly involved in the Holocaust, there is unrestrained hostility.
In the liberal world of theater and news media, tolerance is preached, not practiced. Jews are no longer welcome. Berlin actress and journalist Sarah Maria Sander speaks for Jews in the public sphere, who are subject to death threats: “Since the moment I chose to publicly disclose my position against Israel-focused antisemitism, my ability to move freely has been severely hampered. I found myself unable to go about my daily routine without constant apprehension.”
“I hold public broadcasting accountable for this. In my observation, their coverage has fallen short in providing Germans with a truly informed basis for forming an opinion. Their frequent use of half-truths and deliberate omission of crucial contextual information has unfortunately led to the complete fracturing of my professional and personal relationships.…They simply discontinued all communication with me after a certain point, all because I publicly supported Israel” (“Schuler–Fragen, was ist,” NIUS podcast, 15.05.26).
The nations are lined up against Israel. Even more, they are lining up with Israel’s enemies. China has been supplying Iran with satellite intelligence, technology and weaponry throughout the current war. Missiles and drones fired at Israel from Gaza, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon and Yemen contain Chinese parts.
Business is business. China needs oil. The amoral Communist government has no scruples about trading weapons for oil. China quashes millions of Christians and other minorities with the same indifference.
At a meeting of the United Nations Economic and Social Council on April 8, Australia, Austria, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom were among 53 countries electing Iran to the UN committee coordinating the program for women’s rights, human rights, peacekeeping and terrorism prevention. The hypocrisy leaves one aghast. Only the United States objected (x.com/UNWatch/status/2048898062832058535?s=20). Worldwide, there was a firestorm of hostile reaction to the decision.
So, when an Iranian delegate was elected as vice president of the UN Nuclear Non-Proliferation Review Conference on April 27, this time Australia, France, Germany and the UK opposed.
Jews lament that the world hates them despite the blessing Israel has been for all nations. It is Bible-believing Christians who heed the Prophet Isaiah’s urging: “Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, says your God” (40:1).
